    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming describes a player's use of real-life knowledge concerning the state of the game to determine their character's actions, when said character has no relevant knowledge or awareness under the circumstances, for exmple: If the I read over the dark magic wiki page, and then proceeded to have his character, suddenly become totally aware of what dark magic was, I would be Metagaming.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Powergaming is a style of interacting with games or game-like systems, particularly video games, boardgames, and role-playing games, with the aim of maximizing progress towards a specific goal., for example: at one boss fight, my character decapitate the boss head to kill the enemy.

Matheus is a Heartlander that was born in Helena, at the Holy Orenian Empire. He believe in the Church of the Canon. 

His parents were Jacob and Kassandra, Jacob had blue eyes, short blond hair and was very tall, and Kassandra had long brown hair, green eyes and wasn't so tall or short.

Until he was 15, Matheus had a peaceful life in Helena, but when he was 15, a big war started, and Jacob needed to serve the Empire as a warrior, but he never came back. After the war ended, Kassandra died of depression.

Now, Matheus is trying to enter in the Holy Orenian Empire's army, he is very good in bow and sword, so his chances to enter in the army are great.

Matheus' family had many money, so, one part of this money was when he traveled to all the big cities of Almaris to study the races and their cultures.

Other part of the money he spent in books, and because of this, he is very inteligent today.

Character Age: 30
Physical Description: Matheus is tall, has short brown hair and dark brown eyes.
Roleplay Scenario:

Matheus would respond:

"I know you?"

And continium:

"I'm Matheus, I came to serve the Holy Orenian Empire, so, can you get out of my way, because I'm very hungry and I need to eat something fast"

So the well-dressed gentleman would say his name and:

"Do you want food? I can show you food"

After that, Matheus sit with the well-dressed gentleman and eat some food.
