Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Example:
Max stepped into the tent, boots squelching on the damp ground. The air smelled of wax and rot. At the back, the old woman raised her head, her gaze sharp despite her age.
“Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit. Tell me your story.”
He hesitated, then sat across from her, the candlelight casting shadows across his face.
“I was six when the fire took my village,” he said. “Everyone I knew—gone in one night. The only thing left was a symbol, burned into the doorframe.”
He reached into his coat and pulled out a crumpled parchment.
“I saw that same symbol again. On the edge of the Grey Fen. So I followed it—here.”
Max looked up, eyes hard. “I need to know why.”
