How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is when you provide your character with information that you know, but that they shouldn't know or at least shouldn't know immediately unless they are told or informed about it through roleplay or other possible means. One such example of metagaming is having your character know where the super-secret lair of a villain is, because someone told you oocly where it is, even though nobody else knows, and there is no possible way your character wouldeve gotten the location of the lair out of nowhere.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is when you provide an unfair or unbalanced roleplay by making your character too powerful, godly, or unrealistic, rather than focusing on a more realistic roleplay, with the depiction of their character with their skills and weaknesses. One such example would be using a small dagger to instantly kill a dragon with one swing.

The youngbeard now squinted, scratching his beard out of curiosity while adjusting himself. Clearing his throat, he responds.

"I find it quite confusing that you would come up to me, out of the hundreds of other travelers here. But out of respect, I will tell you that I am here for wealth and fortune. And if know anyone around here that can use a hand, tell them that they can always trust a dwarf."
