    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Keep in mind you aren't THE protagonist or THE antagonist, only a protagonist or an antagonist. You're character shouldn't be all-knowing or all-powerful, because it makes the game significantly less enjoyable for everyone else involved. My go-to when doing anything role-play like is to imagine how I'd feel if I saw someone else doing what I'm doing, would it be an interesting roleplay opportunity, or something disruptive.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming disrupts roleplay by making the entire concept of a secret or a rumor purposeless. Player's put time and effort into making parts of lore that only a select few should know, and it's our job to respect that.

Character Race: High Elf
Character Gender: Male
Character Age: 25
Physical Description: Iliven is gaunt at 6'1" and 140 Ibs. He has white hair and storm-blue eyes. He's generally dressed in practical, cool-weather clothing.
Roleplay Scenario:

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

I hesitantly look at the seat laid before me, "I'd prefer to stand, I think". Still eyeing the dingy cushion, I recount my tale for her. "I was born and raised in Numendil. I assisted the military as a tactician briefly before being asked to leave by my soft-bellied general, despite getting our soldiers to do their jobs correctly.", I put emphasis on the word 'despite', practically spitting the word. "As of late I am looking for a new place of residence to hopefully resume my studies. I believe that is where you come in." I say as I look at the hag expectantly.
