Angela had been raised by a traveler named Theo ‘Highlander.’ Theo himself was a farfolk but because of his large figure and harsh demeanor many dubbed him a highlander and the name stuck. The identity of Angela’s mother remains a mystery, but rumor suggested that her mother might have been been from a rich merchant family of the Holy Orenian Empire and that she had been passed off to Theo to prevent scandal. Regardless, she called Theo father, despite not knowing whether or not this was actually the case. They lived a fairly nomadic lifestyle together traveling the Empire and Theo taking seasonal work where he could. When she reached of age, she desired to go out into the world and find her own destiny. Initially, she had considered dedicating herself to Canonism in order to secure food for herself working with the church. But she found that she couldn’t hide her disdain for what she found to be a ‘stuffy and boring place.’ So she turned to some of the pagan traditions of her father and found books on the occult. Angela quickly found that she had a hand in using tarot cards and casting bones, something she used to fund her travels as an independent adult. She knew that her practice brought unwelcomed attention to herself, so she constantly moved from place to place hidden in the shadows keeping an eye out for lost souls in need of direction (preferably those with a little coin to spare). Times grew hard and her lifestyle began to catch up with her, as she began to feel eyes everywhere even from the very city walls around her that had once made her feel so safe. She felt as though she was losing her mind and that in living as she had she had lost something in the process. Angela decided to try and meet up with Theo again in Santegia so as to finally leave the craziness of the city together and to try and find herself again. Maybe also find the hope for the future and in the humanity of others that she had lost so long ago.
