Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Example:
He sits down slowly, brushing the mud from his clothes. He isn’t very tall — only 1.40 meters — but years of work in the mines and at the forge have made him strong and solid. His hands are rough, his black hair always a bit messy, and his thick beard still smells faintly of smoke and iron.
“I’m just a miner and a blacksmith,” he says with a small shrug.
Most of his days are spent underground, breaking stone and searching for ore in the dark tunnels. It’s hard work, and sometimes the air feels too heavy to breathe, but it’s honest work. The mountain feels like home to him.
At night, he works at his forge. He melts the metal he finds and shapes it into tools, horseshoes, and blades. The sound of the hammer against the anvil is steady and calming. It reminds him that whatever he builds with his hands has purpose.
It’s not an exciting life, but it’s his — simple, quiet, and earned one day at a time.
