    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Knowing things you shouldn't know as a character due to outside interference. An example of metagaming is a situation where your character is in a war, and someone on your enemy side told you that an ally is planning on betraying your side, and as your character, you tell the "leader" without your character actually knowing of it in terms of roleplay, and you win the war as a result. The only reason your side on the rp war won was because of outside interference and you taking advantage of it to implement into your character, despite the fact that your character didn't know of any of that sort beforehand.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Being omniscient and all-powerful at the cost of other peoples' fun, consent and decisions for yOUR OWN HUBRIS. An example of powergaming is "Chad struck Danny down, took his sword and stabbed him through the heart, killing Danny" - "Chad" did not have "Danny" consent to the action of killing his character. Another example is if the character you're roleplaying as knows everything about everyone, and is flawless to a fault; "Kylie is beloved by everyone who meets her - NO EXCEPTIONS", it makes it so that the world revolves around your character, and that your character is so perfect there's no flaws that anybody hates, thus making your character "beloved by everyone who meet them", which some people don't like and won't consent to when it comes to roleplaying.

Marga- no, Umbra switched her gaze from the packed market place onto the dressed gentleman, and tilted her head, right side down once. "Nothing really, just a researcher searching for unknown history and relics, sir." She smiled a close-eyed smile, nodded her head once again with a tilt of her hat, turned and walked into the busy streets of the market. Once out of sight, Umbra' smile darkened, and she changed her point of gaze up at the blue sky - "I wonder what I'll stumble across here".
