Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
Renci lights up as the old woman speaks to him, his golden teeth reveal themselves as the smile expands. One hand is twirling his handlebar moustache throughout their conversation. The other points directly to the hag's eye maybe an inch from it during the whole speech, hovering closer whenever he exclaimed.
"I, legendary mercenary, Kuh Renci "Big Coinage", am a renowned sailor of our beloved ocean. I was born to two magnates of business, the Renci family figureheads, that made themselves a good life for their practices of STEALING from and KILLING people with their iconic golden weaponry. I was taught from the second I could think to search for and kill for gold. We were raised in a disgusting coast town that was a boring WHITE and BLUE , later made into a golden city. We were never nobility, however. Just decently well off, something I would lose.
Wherever we were needed or bored, we killed or pilfered from Orcs, humans, imperials, goblins, you NAME it. I was taught the craft when I could begin talking, but I started at the ripe old age of 7. I stabbed a 7 year old goblin in the neck because I was contracted by the 7 year old contractor to do so. I spent my entire life in that GREAT GOLDEN CITY of mine..." With "great", "golden" and "city" he poked the old hag in the eye thrice, she recoiled and covered her eyes with her hands after each word, though the mercenary kept attempting to poke her through the gaps in her fingers. It was light taps, more of an annoyance than anything but it was very much distracting.
"Until one fateful day where I was exiled by my cruel epic mercenary parents for daring to bring silver instead of gold as a reward for one of my kills. I still remember the look in their eyes as both of them spit into my eyes and sent me off to this decrepit place with only my gold teeth, my amazing legendary mercenary intellect and my big old two hands."
