    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: By playing and taking actions based off of the character's wants and abilities, rather than your own. Respecting the limitations that come with the fiction of the world and the narrative. For example, if my role was a farmer, it would make sense that I would have the skills and abilities of a farmer, and not suddenly posses some sort of superhuman strength or unique power, at least not without some sort of adequate and in-canon justification that I may develop over time.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: it creates a sort of unfair "knowledge shortcut" or otherwise influences actions and decisions that the character would not have otherwise made, resulting in an inauthentic experience. For example, learning something about a character outside of the course of the game could influence the way in which you interact with the character, either more or less positively, when you otherwise would have interacted as normal.

Physical Description: A bit on the shorter side, Elwith wears an age on her face beyond her actual years. A bit stocky from fieldwork. Chestnut hair and emerald green eyes.
Roleplay Scenario:

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

((How do you respond?))

"I'm not sure..." Elwith says hesitantly, her memories thick and muddled. As she goes to sit on the cushion, she asks "...expecting me? For what? I'm...I must admit, I'm not quite sure where this is..." She pushes through the mire of her memories. She came here for some reason...but what? She was...escaping from someone? No. Something. Something dark and ancient. She came with someone else, too...her niece!

"Do you know where Celyn is? Did she make it?"
