    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: You can avoid powergaming within roleplay by staying within the parameters and experience of your character. Someone who has no combat experience previously, should not be able to fight a experience fighter on even grounds. You can do this by taking the time to develop your character through rp.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: It can make the roleplay stale and annoying for those who are involved. If both players metagame a situation, it can cause it to be shorten or unfair for a certain party.

Character Race: Wood Elf
Character Gender: Male
Character Age: 24
Physical Description: Maro would be a 5'8 wooden elf, 220 lbs, black hair, dark olive green eyes. He wears a lengthy coat and pelt to keep warm! Pointy ears backwards.
Roleplay Scenario:

*eyes would glisten with the glaring light beaming inwards towards his face, "Ah- my story?" *Maro would question, his mind vacant of his past memories, "I- I... Who, where was I?" *He would mutter to himself before taking a glance around the room. 

"Where are we! The last thing I remember would be... be on the hull of a ship. Staring into the never ending sea when suddenly... This mist seemed to overtake the boat."

*Maro's eye would flicker, "I don't seem to remember much since then..."
