Khenta taken in by a wandering group of highlanders. He was merely a child when his parents were killed by a group of bandits in the frontier. From childhood to current age he wandered with various nomadic highlander groups living off the frontier. However, he always enjoyed visiting the big cities even if the large crowds left him uncomfortable. He took jobs doing what he could along his adventures to pay for his ventures into cities.

They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
