Mohammed Olajuwon, known to outsiders as Moe, hails from a village outside of Al'Khaleed. There he enjoyed an easy-going lifestyle devoid of labor, as his father is a relatively successful merchant and his brother Hakeem is a local hero for his clutch actions in the defense of the village during a bandit raid. This fame and fortune has meant Moe has never had to work and always has had too much free time. Between his family's status, his good looks and his natural charm & charisma, Moe could get by with much without fear of repercussion. It took many years for this life of leisure to catch up with him, but when it did his path changed forever.
A lover of all things debaucherous, Mohammed frequented Al'Khaleed to partake in whatever seedy shenanigans he could find. This often found him in the company of gamblers, women of the night, and smugglers exporting cactus green and bringing in the forbidden fruit: Alcohol. After a hazy night with these smugglers, Moe woke up in the middle of the central bazaar with nothing but a smoking pipe and a mostly empty bottle of bootleg liquor. Upon the discovery of his body, guards had been alerted and gruffly took him away to jail but not before making quite the scene among the locals. This wasn't a situation Mohammed could simply talk or wink his way out of.
His family was forced to pay a hefty sum, and agree to a few favors, in order to bail Moe out. Rumors were beginning to spread around the village, threatening to tarnish the family's reputation. A religious man himself, Moe's father banished him from the household. The banishment was made privately in an attempt to hide the truth of Moe's shameful acts from the villagers. The family paid for passage to Presa de Madera, where Moe now seeks to make a name for himself.
Mohammed's aspirations include becoming famous by virtue of his comedic storytelling and reclaiming a semblance of the plush life he used to have, maybe even to aim higher than before.
Moe is obsessed with his looks and being well-liked or sought after. His weakness is having too good of a time, along with a pretty woman (or man, but those occasions are rarer and guarded with the utmost secrecy.) Due to his abundance of free time in his past, he is a bit of a jack-of-all trades but could never muster the commitment to master a craft. This has led to him being an appreciator of both the arts and science, as joke/story-telling and tinkering are his favorite hobbies.
Ever the optimist, Mohammed looks forward to the new opportunities laid in front of him and doesn't entirely dwell on the loss of his old life. It has ignited a spark of ambition inside of him, albeit a slight one for now.
