Rye Yanna was born into a fairly poor family; her father being a travelling merchant and the bread winner of the house - due to this he was not always home as the village they lived in was rarely on the maps. Rye's mother was a stay at home mother that focused on trying her best to give Rye and her older brother a passing education - this was at least enough for her brother to move onto a better life. Even if the situation was not the greatest, the family managed to live a happy life; this was until Rye's father invited his wife to travel the merchants path. Rye was left at home to keep the house in check - she was 9 and capable to do so; Rye's mother worried as she normally did and Rye calmed her down and kept the house in check. For 7 years. In 7 years her parents never came back, never made a sound - they just left her. 7 Years of panicking; 7 years without an income; 7 years without help - 7 years alone. She had enough, she had no time to think why they abandoned her - she had to work for herself. First she observed; what made people money? What made the most money? What got people in a comfy position? Repeatedly she came to the same conclusion - fraud, scamming, trickery of all shapes and forms: this was the most effective, given that she was not caught. Rye used the last present that she had, a deck of playing cards - in fact, a deck of hand decorated playing cards. This was the solution - tricking others into getting a false reading with the drawback of Rye supposedly cannot see far into the future - thus the client needing to return every so often. This worked for long enough that this became Rye's job - with the money she had she bought books to further her knowledge on how to trick; and some creation books. These creation books normally made her laugh - what sort of test was Rye being put through? Was it really necessary? Is this deity just trying to have fun whilst its creations give it a grander purpose?
Where Rye was a greedy one, she often saved money to horde it; she was also empathetic to others in a similar situation. Because of this empathy Rye found herself some days sitting with those younger than her telling them about her story of rags to riches - even though she was still at the rags stage of it.
Often Rye wondered about delving into other types of scams - illusionary magic was always an interest of hers however she was never rich enough to seek out a mentor.
As Ryes scamming gave her money it also ended up giving her a scar, though the reason for this attack was not about the scam itself; this one was an angry lover that lashed out at the mere idea that the one he had chosen was not meant to be. This lover swore that Horen himself approved of this marriage and then attacked Rye leaving her with a slash across the eye and an excuse to get out of the village.
Now Rye Yanna finds herself in a new place, a place no one knows her name is non the wiser of her talent for trickery.
*She steps off the boat and opening her arms wide in a flourish and a smile on her face*
"Why Hello - might I say you look dashing in those clothes"
*She takes her final step and bows*
"To answer that tugging curiosity, I have arrived to this marvelous city to expand my knowledge of the wider world and to show others the skill's I have kept away~"
*Rye looks at the busy city clearly happy with where she has now arrived*
"If you wish my good sir" *She delves into her pockets and pulls out a deck of colourful playing cards*
"I can show you a hint of my skill, If I shall say it is like no other in methods and accuracy."
