Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—” Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"My name is Felix. I was on a trading vessel with one of my close companions when a storm descended on our ship from nowhere and tore our ship to shreds." Felix shifts uncomfortably on the cushion. "I'm from a place that is quite far from here and definitely disconnected from this one. I work for a group in my home called the Jade Dragon. It's an extremely prolific trading company in my home, though it appears its reach is not this far." Felix takes a deep breath before proceeding. "My father sits on its board of directors and expects great things of me; however, with this disaster, I don't even know if he thinks I'm still alive. So my goal now is to find my friend who was also on the boat with me. Then I'll start up a branch of the Jade Dragon here and hopefully be able to get in contact with my home, so I can assure my father of my safety and success." Felix seems more determined now, having used the moment to reinvigorate himself to continue his journey. "Thank you for the time, but I must be going now. My goods won't trade themselves." Felix bows politely to the Hag and departs, leaving a small trinket as a parting gift.
