Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
Morbid curiosity fueled her arrival, as dark eyes settle on the hag steadily. "You've been expecting me?" She asked, but thought that this could've been the oldest trick in the book - a lie to keep up the allure. Nonetheless, she sat as instructed. "My story? Well there's not much to say," she folded her sleeves, "I'm a seafarer looking from an offshore coastal village made of fishermen and dock workers, I left home to pursue greater heights." A smile graced her lips, light and measured. "My parents taught me everything - discipline, patience, compassion.. But only the real world can teach me skills beyond which my little village could offer me." There was a pause, before she continued. "Azuras.. A vast land full of opportunities. I come here seeking to be a better person, to harness skills and build myself up to return one day to my village and make my parents proud." She smiled gently, as she chatted with the woman some more - about this town, its culture, its people, and the land that lived and breathed beyond it.
