Nelaira, a member of the High Elf society, living in Haelun'or, has been curious her entire life. From the first book she ever read on the faith of Dark Elves to her trip to the capital city of Almaris, Caras y Tennellar, on her 18th birthday, she has wanted to learn more about the other races who live in the world beyond her city. After her parents found out she had visited, she was banned from reading anything about the other races and was forbade from leaving the city in order to prevent her from being "tainted". Her passion for music kept her company in the lonely years after that. Nelaira is currently 22 years and 6 months old and plans to leave her home city on her 23rd birthday to travel the realms and share her music. Her passion began at the young age of 6 after reading about the music of Farfolk. From then on, she requested a Lyre from her parents and had been playing on it ever since with the promise that she would still focus on her studies.
Nelaira looks around at the bustling bazaar around her, then back to the man. She considered her answer before attempting to smile. Lifting her lyre, she told the man, "I've come from Haelun'or to share my music with the world." She hoped she sounded nice, the way other races so easily did. Nelaira then walked to a nearby bench and sat down. "Would you like to hear a song I wrote?"
