Nelaira, a member of the High Elf society, living in Haelun'or, has been curious her entire life. From the first book she ever read on the faith of Dark Elves to her trip to the capital city of Almaris, Caras y Tennellar, on her 18th birthday, she has wanted to learn more about the other races who live in the world beyond her city. After her parents found out she had visited, she was banned from reading anything about the other races and was forbade from leaving the city in order to prevent her from being "tainted". Her passion for music kept her company in the lonely years after that. Nelaira is currently 22 years and 6 months old and plans to leave her home city on her 23rd birthday to travel the realms and share her music. Her passion began at the young age of 6 after reading about the music of Farfolk. From then on, she requested a Lyre from her parents and had been playing on it ever since with the promise that she would still focus on her studies.

Lynnova Wood was born during winter in the year 1641. Her mother and father, Sylvanas and Demetrius, already had two children before her. One of them was born out of the mother and the second was adopted after Sylvanas' sister was murdered. Sylvanas wanted kids so badly that, due to the Elven curse, she waited the least amount of time physically possible. From the first moment she came into the world, her parents knew she was different. She had the skin of Snow Elves, very pale, she brown hair of Wood Elves, the eyes of a High Elf, and she was very small. They saw an even greater difference in the way she walked. Her walk was agile and precise. She walked with the grace of a swan and they knew one day she could be a queen. But, instead of acting like one, on her fourth birthday she asked for a knife and bow. After that, she began hunting with her father. She had a great shot, hitting a bird in the eye from one-hundred feet away. She was also impeccable in combat. When she turned fourteen, her mother took her and her two siblings on a mission into the woods in search of a special plant their mother used for home remedies. As they were looking, they ran into a group of Dark Elves. The Dark Elves saw their advantage. Four adults to one adult and three kids. Lynn saw that her family was in danger and threw herself at the group. She managed to knock two out but saw that her brother and sister were struggling under two and another that had appeared. Her mother just stood their watching. Another elf grabbed Lynnova and held her, making her watch as her siblings were killed. Still her mother did nothing. From that moment on, she hated the woman she used to love as her mother. She hated the woman once known as Sylvanas Windrunner.
