Demi was born in a suburb of Santegia, near Presa de Madera, her parents owning a small tavern, in an equally small village. She was never remarkable, like the well known Demira, her namesake and an old king's advisor famed for her knowledge. She considered herself an average inhabitant of Atlas, reminded of this constantly by her work at the tavern through her younger teenage years. Some children trapped in a situation like this yearn to travel, explore, and see new places, while Demi could appreciate the appeal of the interesting and alluring corners of the kingdom, she had no particular desire to travel, she would rather just see where life takes her. Demi cannot wield a sword for the life of her, she can barely hold it in both hands and absolutely hates having to handle them. She is also hopeless with bow, having a terrible sense of aim and just getting frustrated with the contraptions. She would consider herself a flirtatious person, enjoying the attention she would get from having boys struggle for her attention, but she is scared of commitment, and would rather not date, nor settle down with anyone. Demi has very few skills in the fighting sense, but her ability to avoid fights is prominent, she is very manipulative, from having to calm down drunken strangers nightly, and talk people out of rages so nothing would be broken, she can't talk people into anything, obviously, but she is more convincing then the next person. The only way she could survive in a fight would be by running, or if she had the benefit of surprise and an opportunity to knock her opponent out. Demi has a very large fear of water and swimming in lakes, rivers and definitely the ocean, not seeing what lies beneath the surface gives her a very uncomfortable sense of dread. The only other notable thing of this slip of a girl would be her thievery skills, lock-picking the odd cabin, skimming perhaps a few coins from the pocket of a jacket that is hanging a bit too far from its wearer. Her best way to get money other then illegitimate means would be through waitressing, bar-tending and brewing, all of which she has an appropriate amount of knowledge on. The only occasion when Demi would travel would be to meet new people, and sweep through a town's less observant pockets, to get the thrill of getting away with it, the thrill of leading guys on and then shutting them down, Demi lives for little thrills. When she is working she hides behind a blanket, a demeanour of the nice, innocent waitress, it is so much easier to stop fights, and avoid things being broken, when people are scared to upset her.
Demi has two dreams in life, one is of being part of a family, something like a group, an alliance, people she can trust and rely on. The second dream is less achievable, a simple wish, she wishes she could be like the noblewomen, educated, sophisticated and fancy, walking about like strange birds with their feathery dresses and their beautiful masks of makeup.
Ever since she first learned of magic she has been fascinated with it, she knows she is not born with any sort of knowledge or skill but one of her life goals is to try and learn a small part of the difficult craft.
