Ahearn grew up with a normal family, if not on the slightly impoverished side. His father worked in a nobles stables, feeding and cleaning the horses. Mother sewed clothes, made dinner and taught the kids how to read and write. Ahearn often went to work with his father, enjoying the gentle nature of the work horses, while awed by the massive warhorses. He grew up quick and strong, hefting hay bales from the fields, cleaning the stables and even snagging some ferrying experience from a blacksmith, which led to him making most of the horse shoes the stables used. Ahearn was the middle child with an older sister who married a traveling merchant and left mom heartbroken, while his younger brother chose to go to school, later becoming a scribe in Helena.
Not Ahearn though, he was ready to live the simple life with the horses. Mother and Father passed away before their time, Mother caught an illness and passed in her sleep. Father was broken up by it and passed away later that same day. Ahearn swears his dad died of a broken heart anytime he’s had a few too many. It was a hard winter, the noble family fell on hard times and sold off the majority of their horses and livestock. Leaving Ahearn with not much else to do, and a taxes piling up. So he left to travel the world, to find his own way in life though he’ll always have a preference for working with horses. While on the road he found God in the Cannon Church, Though not a fanatic he does find comfort in the community and doesn’t mind working for the church should they need something.
He’s an honest lad, not very interested in the political games played by nobles. Though no form training he does have a hard cane his father left him that he wields in self defense. He’s not quite sure what life has in store for him, though he looks forward to the hard work should a goal become clear to him.
*Notes: I know I’m to add two pieces of lore at least, I read up on the Cannon Faith and felt comfortable using that. Helena though being a physical place I did not know much about, I hope this is okay. If you are looking for more please let me know. Also I’ve never played a “role-playing” game like this, back in the day I played WOW but never role played. My only experience is years and years of IRL D&D and RIFTS pen and paper games. So I hope everything is in order.
Read the scenario below this box and type out inside of this box how your character might respond. Your response must be at least four sentences long and include at least one action and at least one piece of dialogue surrounded by quotes.
“Well I found myself aboard that fine vessel behind me.” He’d jerk his thumb over his shoulder to the ship in the harbor. “After their quartermaster needed help moving new cargo on, wasn’t too bad I suppose though the hard tack was brutal.” He’d smile and offer his hand to shake. “Though I suppose, to answer your question I’m not sure why I’m here, I just thought it would be a fine idea to see a new part of the world, though Adventure sounds like a right fine idea, and everybody can use a bit of wealth aye?” He’d grin wide and slick back his mop of brown hair.
