In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: As someone who has experienced others powergaming in the past, it is really annoying and unfair to the other party. In order to make roleplay more fun for both parties, I try to give my character different quirks that make them more unique- Whether it's a weakness or a strength. I find it fun to give my characters a bunch of flaws because it can lead to more room for improvement or just more realistic roleplay because in reality nobody can be perfect like that. Everybody does make errors, so why not incorporate that into roleplay too? It may seem fun to powergame but at the end of the day, you are not supposed to be a god. This is NOT a godrp server therefore we should not treat it like one.
In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming can be a big disruption to roleplay due to you knowing outside information. This doesn't just stop at just telling someone another's location, but also information that they are not supposed to know in character like facts about them for example. Metagaming is another thing that I believe makes roleplay very unrealistic because if you were to tell someone OOCly about something that happened with your character, then they somehow know ICly, how did they get that information in the first place?? It just feels more like a script at that point. Me personally, I love to improv with my actions. Like I mentioned in the last question, nobody is perfect so having a script like that just makes me feel like I have to go for a more perfected version of things. With not knowing certain things and paving the path for my own character, it makes roleplay a lot more suspenseful and entertaining for myself and I'm sure the other party would feel a similar way.

Character Name: Jorvik Shilling
Character Race: Mountain Dwarf
Character Gender: Male
Character Age: 50
Physical Description: The dwarf weighs in at 278lbs, 'n height of 3'8. A blonde blue eyed beaut he was alongside his braided beard. Rumor 'as it, he gives good hugs.
Roleplay Scenario:

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"Right then.." Jorvik kissed his teeth, the dwarf's fingers tugging at the end of his braided beard. Shilling sniffed, taking note of the lit candles around him. As he found himself deeper into the tent, he met eyes with the old hag. Jorvik let out a grunt, plopping himself down onto the velvety cushion. The blonde mountain dwarf cleared his throat before speaking, "Strange tent yew got here miss, if I'm being honest smells worse in here than a flooded mineshaft, but suppose I've sat in uglier places throughout my years." Shilling offered the hag a polite nod, almost courtly despite the mud on his boots. "Names Jorvik. Jorvik Shilling, that is. But considerin' yew've been expecting my arrival, there needn't be any introduction.” The white streak in Jorvik’s beard stood out as clear as frost to the old hag– How he got it? A story yet to uncover. “I’ve been wanderin’ a long time now, so it's quite nice to settle down and take a break for once in a while. Shilling gave the lady a stern look. “Long enough to pick up more than just a few blisters” He adjusted the satchel hanging across his shoulder. The dwarf reached into the poorly-stitched bag to bring out a pipe. Jorvik lit the smoking pipe, drawing in smoke before letting out a huff, exhaling out what seemed to be tobacco mixed with some kind of herbs. His tongue clicked, “Figured yew wouldn’t mind– Considerin’ the candles..” Shilling’s eyes flickered to the candles illuminating outside the tent. He furrowed his eyebrows, taking his satchel off from his shoulder. “Well, if yew really have been expecting me.. I suppose it's worth asking yew m’lady.. Could these trinkets I’ve got be worth anythin' in this town of yer’s?” His bag rested against his chest as he peered into the bag. The blonde dwarf laid out different items onto the table before him; various coins, many small, most big, and all mismatched in color. Some even had holes in them.. A lot of them had looked worn, but there were still a select few that kept a faint gleam to them. “These are some o' my favorites to collect- Never found two of the exact same.” Jorvik then placed down a heavy silver ring. It seemed to be quite dull, with a few scratches running along the band. “This one 'ere I pulled off of a corpse-” He chuckled to himself, “Didn’t fit 'em no more.” Shilling muttered, a smirk peaking out of his beard. The mountain dwarf set the ring next to the coins on the table. As Jorvik reached into his bag, he placed the remaining objects onto the table. The first one being a geode rock containing an amethyst crystal inside, the next one a crimson ruby, and finally, a pretty green emerald gemstone. He scratched his beard, looking among the stones before placing the shiny green emerald before the lady in the tent. “I believe this one shall belong to yew, miss.” Shilling gave a soft grin before continuing; “It's bright, beautiful, and hard to miss- Just like yer’self.” The mountain dwarf put a hand over the old hag’s, looking into her eyes as he spoke. “I reckon a gem like this should belong to someone who can truly appreciate its worth” A dimple peered out from his left cheek, unable to wipe away the smile from his face. He stood up from the cushion as he placed a kiss on the emerald, putting it into the lady’s palm. “Keep it safe madam, may come in handy later down the line.. Or at least bring a smile to yer’ face when the swamp gets a bit dreary.”
