Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Oryx peered sceptically dowm at the tatterred cushion, giving a reluctant sigh before gracefully lowering himself onto it.
"Why, hello... madam?" His eyes scanned the hag for a few seconds, blinking a few times as he shuddered slightly.
"I won't question your intentions, I suppose" He shrugged. "I'm Oryx, a... fledgling scholar from Petra. I am... wherever this is... in search of tutelage, and material which to study and document."
He paused, seeming to ponder something. "Prior to this, I kept records for a number of businesses, and performed other similarly mundane administrative tedia. Unsurprisingly, I hastened to accumulate what little wealth I could to fund a more... sophisticated avenue of living."
"Hence..." He motioned to himself with both hands and a half-smile, pointing out the new attire, and tidy leather gloves he wore. "what you see before you." He continued.
With a shrug, he sighed. "Alas, my fortunes have been rather meagre thus far, but I'm sure I'll find whatever it is I'm looking for soon." He looked to the hag, as though awaiting a reply.
