In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: To avoid Powergaming inside a roleplay senario or roleplay in general (allow "you" or another member of your group to gain the advantage over other players using unrealisitic means eg super powers.) you can avoid language that is one sided or using "Make". also make sure you know the limits of your charater so they arent a god like entity. Force RP is also important when it comes to Powergaming. (im not too familiar with mc RP but in My personal GTA 5 server I play PGN Force RP) would be used like /me Puts knife to neck which makes you drop your gun. This is force rp because it forces the other player to do actions out of their control. buy making your character have limits on what they can do makes it so the character doesnt become godly. The point of avoiding Powergaming is to stop unfair advantages and to stop other players from expoliting you/each other. its not saying that you should avoid injuries like your leg got stuck and you fell over hurting your leg but it is saying that if this were to happen you would have to rp it out like if the injury is bad they cant walk or run. this doesn't just mean injuries either. The extent of this can go towards (coming from 5-6 years experience from DOJ-OCRP and now PGN which are gta rp) being handcuffed you cant climb a ladder without hands, or in the sence of MC RP if you have your hands tied behind you or your arms are broken you cant use a bow with a strong pull behind it. everything that this is saying is that failing to participate in the traits of your characters (traits meaning if your character is injured, has something wrong with them or is like missing a arm or something crazy) is powergaming and this needs to be avoided. However the definition given for powergaming under this force RP is also given in nearly every RP scene (Im going to refer them as "scenes" because thats what im used to) force RP is not allowed. this is like /me a bone falls out of your backpack. This would be force RP because it doesn't allow the player to respond and it can be a problem. and is normally a breach of rules. (as a friend told me about this server Im not 100% sure but in PGN there is owner RP that you can participate in so some Force RP is allowed in that server). to avoid powergaming just report it. as it is more easy then metagaming to solve.
In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming is a extreamly disruptive problem with RP and alot of the time you can tell when it is happening. Most metagaming is like you hear someone talking in a VC but you actually have to act on the information for it to be considered Metagaming (can also inculde If you are watching other peoples streams to find them and such). This is disruptive because it allows a unfair advantage to the person that is metagaming (I will use a gta 5 metagaming example but it can be used in MC as well). E.g someone is streaming to a VC or social media and you watch the stream to try find them, say they are hiding from people and whoever finds them gets money or something. watching the stream and acting on the information is a very disruptive act and most of the time it is really easy to tell if someone is meta gaming. this act of metagaming is disruptive because if is unfair and giving your person an advantage against everyone. it is also diruptive because it can be very easy to notice when someone is doing it, they will act unrealistic or something will just not be right. often a good way to tell is: you can hear talking in a VC through there mic, they are like lets go this way then suddenly they want to go the other direction and then bam the person that you have been looking for is directly there hiding, its all a little strange. this is disruptive because it isn't a realistic way of acting. this can disrupt the scene and ruin other peoples experience. However on a server like this people want to stream to social media and im sure that the owners want that too so its not a bad thing to stream. however, its really hard to crack down on the issue of Metagaming, So in that sence it is also disruptive (Not to fair roleplay like asked) to the chain of command. and most of the time is a waste of time to go after (I have had experience on this matter). if you want to report someone for this they can just say it was a coincidence and most of the time you can't prove it, Unless there is a recording of them clearing doing it. this as Said before is diruptive because if you are a admin or staff you might need to sort out a problem of metagaming and this is just a waste of time (not that it is a waste of time for the staff meaning it is a waste of time in the sense that it is just stupid that staff need to not RP or focus on more pressing matters) this is disruptive because depending on how reports are done it can end on a staff member missing an important event or events being cannced at the extreme because not enough staff or the host is busy sorting this out. overall metagaming is a disruptive thing that affects Fair RP by allowing people to get information that there character wouldn't know and then acting on it most of the time making it so you person benifits from this. In pretty much every server this is not allowed.

Character Gender: Prefer not to say.
Character Age: 19
Physical Description: average 5'7-5'8. They have a slightly slender figure but not skinny eyes. are a deep shade of blue. has brown hair currly. olive skin tone
Roleplay Scenario:

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

((How do you respond?))

Example:

"okay, thank you for the invitation."

Hakhama looks at the hag inside the tent confused, Their bag of coins can be heard as they reluctantly sit down.

"You want to know my story?"

Hakhama says unsure if they should trust the hag.

"Why do you... Okay? what harm could come from it"

Hakhama looks up towards the poles of the tent and can be seen trying to think.

"well my Grandparents from the fathers side left one of the major cities? empires? I don't know it was a big place. I don't know too much about my mother and their side. I wasn't really well educated, you know..?"

Hakhama Leans back and rubs their chin.

"after my parents met they kinda went around village to village looking for a place that felt like home. We ended up at the Meranesiam Islands. then bang I was born. I was raised with both my parents but my mother was quite distant and quiet. and I was unfortunatly an only child. and you know... We weren't poor but I can tell ya that we were not rich. We had hard winters but good summers. Honesty It wasn't bad. My family could tell that I didn't want to be there. I guess... I didnt really see it as a home? if that makes any sence. I always felt out of place there. So they decided that I should leave, and go make my fortune out in the world. well now look at me!"

Hakhama leans back into their pouch and pulls out a even smaller pouch filled with a few bronze coins.

"So yea, I don't even know if this place takes bronze, well everywhere takes bronze but I don't know if its worth anything to anyone"

Hakhama can be seen to let out a smile.

"funny enough I always wanted to become a rattlesnake tamer but thats far beyoned what I can become. I am a big fan of animals and I have always liked meeting people and talking to them so maybe a healer? I know Im still yong but I have read book rolls from old times, and I know little, from what can be learned but I still wanna try."

Hakhama gets ready to stand up.

"okay well I best be going"

Hakhama stands up

"you wouldn't happen to know where a larger town is or some jobs I could do to earn some coin?"

Hakhama leans on a log beside the tent waiting for a answer. And when they get it Hakhama make sure the sack on their back is tight and well fited for they have a long quest ahead of them.
