When Jayden was a child he loved sitting on the beach, playing in the water as it slowly rolled up and tickled his feet, but he also enjoyed being with his older brother, Ludwig. He viewed him as someone he wanted to be like, and while Ludwig was busy giving Foxes more attention than he was giving his brother, Jayden began to think of the sea, thinking of what it would be like if he one day had a ship of his own and could sail the seas this hearts content. He was a daydreamer back then, one with his head always caught up in the clouds, but he’s changed dramatically over the years from the cheery, bright eyed child he was back then.

When Jayden learned to read he did so with subtle melancholy, he wasn’t as interested in reading books about fantasy as he was in reading maps or about the places of the world. He spent a lot of time sitting on the docks in town or out in the fields by his home, drawing maps of places he had made up within his own imagination or of ships that he would glance while at port. When he turned 8, he began learning to sail with his father, finding that he was more than adequate at the art. Jayden loved cooking with his parents, not being nearly as good at the act as his older brother ludwig, but being better at baking than him.

When they were teenagers Jayden often got into fights. With his incessant fighting, and Björn’s confusion on the matter, he eventually sent him away to live with his uncle. As such, Difficult and brutal, Jaydens uncle felt his education was a lackluster excuse for efficient. In their time together, the man filled Jaydens head with the origins of their family, the sword bestowed to their greatest ancestor, and taught him the arts of combat with the ultimate goal of carrying on their legacy and joining the military one day in the future. His uncle filled his head with tales of grandeur and battles.

Jayden, doubtful of the stories, nevertheless did as his uncle instructed. He trained and foughtalongside the man in a foray of exercises that taught him the basics of combat, and perhaps even instilled a more honorable sense of being about his person. A strong Camaraderie formed between one another, finding respect and trust as the the boy grew and the man aged. Their time together was short. His uncle, involved in less than lawful activities on the side, eventually found the boy to be a burden and weight that he could not handle. In a series of twisted events, Jayden found himself abandoned and forlorn, floating upon a plank in the middle of the sea.. Rescued in the wilderness by a patrol of elves, the boy requested their help in finding his now missing uncle. When they did locate the man they found him to be unaccepting of aid and the resulting clash left his Uncle dead and Jayden alone, his father having abandoned him.

Time passed for the young man as if in a haze. Left alone, he rid himself of his previous home and most of its possessions, reminders, and trinkets that did little for his sensibility.
