    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: I try to stick to my characters physical traits, like strength and intelligence and other things, and try to stay grounded to the resources and things i can do at that current time.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming disrupts fair roleplay because it disrupts the line between what the PLAYER knows and what the CHARACTER knows, an example of this is when a group of characters meet a seemingly trustworthy old man, but one player has heard in another voice chat (ooc) that the old man is not to be trusted, they then tell the other players/characters to not trust the old man, this is not fair because the character has no reason to be suspicious, and is using outside sources to gain an edge

Roleplay Scenario:

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Example: 

He jumped and turned around to the old hag "Oh- Hello ma'am.. sorry I didn't mean to break into your tent, I was just looking a place to stay for the night.." He tried to release some tension and sat on the cushion, " I come from numendil, far away, I know, but I'm so TIRED of being nobody.." he slouched, "Do you believe in destiny?" The hag shrugged "Yeah me too.. Where I'm from I had nobody, no dog, cat, mom, nor dad, I was alone." The hag listened "I left, who would have noticed anyway? I used all the money I had on this armor and sword" I would lay my sword on the ground " But its not ALL bad.. Once in a while I meet a nice person and get food, or just a good conversation in general." I'd stretch and start to leave my chair "Thank you for listening maam, Hopefully I'll meet you again sometime" I sheathed my sword and walked out the tent, arms behind my head as I walk
