History

Helias' history is no more interesting than a conversation with the local baker. He was born into a farming family, spending most of his days out in the sun working on the crop. He had very little schooling, yet taught him how to read and write in the Common tongue. On his off-days, he was either reading away at the minimal books he could find, playing and practicing his varied instruments, for it was his best task. His abilities allowed him to play the fiddle, lute, bagpipes, and even a bit of the drums if he so pleased. When Helias turned 17, his own homestead and farm had caught fire due to a score that needed to be settled with opponents of his father's. The scar that Helias bears across his eye today is from said fire, when Helias was trying to help his siblings escape the house from the fire while he himself was slashed by what he assumed was a piece of wood sticking out from the ground. Since then, he has been out trying to find a purpose for himself, setting out across Atlas to share his skills.

They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

((How does your character respond? Please ensure your response is at least six sentences long, and uses at least two actions.))

Example: (delete this when you add your own)

"Oh, I just, uh…" The traveler stutters, tensing up. They eye the crone, then back outside the shack. For a moment, the air thickens with anticipation, until…
