Gareth Goodwin, born in the Empire of Man in a fairly wealthy family, his dad was a merchant and owned a house modestly large; giving plenty of space for a family. His mom tended to house chores, as they were quite well off not needing to rake in coin. She doted on him quite often, making him quite attached to her, and due to her tendency to read, Gareth had picked it up as well as form of past-time, making him quite fond of books. As his father was often out on merchant runs, he was unable to properly educate Gareth on important skills in life, leaving it to his mother and most notably his weapon's instructor. Unfortunately due to his lack of time with his father, Gareth never really found interest in his father's trade. However, he loved his weapon's instructor, he taught him many a things in life; etiquite, his tempeament to others but most importantly: a blade. This naturally led Gareth to spending most of his time learning how to wield a sword during his childhood. Gareth had two twin brothers when he was 4, this led him to guiding them and spending a lot of his free time hanging out and playing with them. When Gareth turned 14 his father had decided to move some place else, as trading them would have been more profitable. During the wagon ride to their new home, they were ambushed by bandits, killing his mom and father; however his weapon's instructor held them off, giving him and his brothers time to escape.... unfortunately, an arrow had hit Gareth's leg, giving him no time to escape before his instructor was overwhelmed. His brothers unable to save him in time, had to leave him behind. He was then captured by bandits and sold to slave traders, due to his injury, he was unable to be sold for quite some time, but was eventually sold to a farmer who was suffering from a lack of hands, and needed one at a low price. For the next 4 years, Gareth spent his time in that farm, learning to do chores and living in measly conditions. Eventually, the farmer fell into poverty and was forced to sell him to passing slave traders for some extra coin. Soon, these group of slave traders were attacked at night by bandits, giving Gareth time to run and escape. Finally being free, Gareth vowed to find his brothers no matter what.... but first he had to find shelter and a way to put food on the table.
The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

As soon as she tells him to sit, Gareth collapses onto the chair. He immediately looks for and grabs the nearest can of water, chugging it down as fast as he can, spilling some of it on his face and clothes. Once his thirst had been quenched... or more likely lack of water in the can, he turns his gaze towards the hag, opening his once parched lips, he says "Sorry about that... its been ages since I have been able to drink that much water. Not sure we have met either, so I think you might have the wrong guy.". He pauses for a few moments, noticing the hag's lack of response, he continued "the last 5 years were miserable, constantly hungry and thirsty, piled on with unrelentling work. Don't even get me started on Dain; my master, that arrogant prick..... ahhh" he breathes in, turning his gaze upwards "feels good to finally be free, and by the hands of bandits" he smiles turning his gaze back to her " Funny aint it, to be saved by the hands of the very people that ruined my life.... and my family" his eyes turns somber. "I only want to look for my brothers, with that Id like to ask you what's this little town called?"
