Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
Aman does as he's instructed, avoiding his clothes catching flame as he hesitantly takes a seat in front of the old woman. He squints as he scans the woman's face for any hint of familiarity, to no avail. Still, the old woman continues to smile, and they sit in silence for a moment, before he replies, "Uh, pardon my forgetfulness, but do I know you? I was just passing through this swamp on my way to deliver a message to another kingdom, but I seem to be lost." He's hesitant to give up more information so he stays silent until the old woman gets up with a small smile to fetch tea.
"Here you go hun, drink it'll warm you up." she says.
"Thank you." Aman gratefully sips his tea before shifting in his seat. “Well, my name is Aman Greystalk. I come from the western side of the Kingdom of Caurost. I'm the oldest of three with my younger siblings being twins. My mother works on the ports of Caurost as craftsman; my father has worked as a tradesman all his life and has sent me on this voyage to test whether I am ready to take on the job." Aman inhales deeply to catch his breath, and pauses before adding, "All I've ever wanted is to prove myself to my family, but I can't even find my way to Koyo-Kuni. I greatly thank you for your hospitality, but I should be on my way. Would you be able to provide any directions?"
