When Grimbulus was born on an evening in San’Strok, he was seen as a big brute of an orc and was immediately sent into hard labor. Constantly abused and berated by his peers, he grew a great hatred for his own kind. He sought an edge over his competition to become the strongest and most feared orc warrior. Grimbulus knew that brute force alone would get him nowhere, he sought real power: that of the Spirits. He was willing to sacrifice all of his kin for power, as long as it meant he could wreak havoc on all others hold dear.  His family means nothing to him; he has no friends, no one but himself to rely on. But, he knew he could not let this come to light. No, he needed to play coy. Be the brute his kin believes he is. He sought the power of the local shamans; he believed that if he could somehow grasp the ability to commune with the Spirits, he could obtain a portion of power for himself. However, to obtain this power, he must feign interest in other’s lives. He must make connections, develop friends. But in his heart, he knows that they are nothing but stepping stools in the pursuit of power. 

Grimbulus is very eager, and tends to not fully understand that which he is dealing with. In an attempt to raise a demon, he foolishly chopped off two of his fingers because he believed it to be part of the ritual. However, in reality, the ritual was a hoax sold to him by a street vendor. He is so full of himself he believes himself to be invincible to the negative effects of magic, and if there were a demon who desired to control the mind of a mortal, Grimbulus would be a prime candidate due to his size. 

Grimbulus is aware of the need of help from others, and is constantly working to improve his charisma. He knows that the strongest individuals in the world have always captivated their underlings; it is a skill that can be learned, like any other. He is constantly seeking knowledge, reading any book he can get his hands on, and even venturing outside the town walls from time to time while maintaining a disguise, to observe the customs of the other races. However, despite his will to increase his intelligence, he posesses the classic simplemindedness of the average orc, and is quick to anger. This has caused him to enter many fights, where his size has played in his favor, however his combat prowess is found to be lacking. A goblin managed to claim one of his eyes after an altercation occurred in which the goblin insulted his intelligence; this served as a lesson to Grimbulus to not over or underestimate anyone due to their size.
