He was born in a rural village near Norland 26 years ago. When he was just 4 years old, his mother passed away as she fell to a horrible sickness, a plague that had nearly destroyed the entire settlement. For some time after that, the village has survived off of the minimum supplies and the stockpile left after The Pestilence. His Father was a military chieftain and has taught him the craft of war since his early days, and then by the time he was sufficiently proficient in fighting, around 10 years after his mother's death, the settlement is attacked and the village becomes a ghost town as most people flee. But some stay, a garrison of soldiers and several of their sons remain, defending what was left of the village. His father sets Bogodar's sister, Jasna on a carriage to Haense and returns for his fighting duty. They succesfully fend off the attack and after that, Bogodar and his father are sent off to wander in the world as a squire for his father. They eventually find some success and are able to settle down at a small village somewhere in the Western regions, as his father passes away from old age, Bogodar sets off to find his sister and finally reuinte with her.
