Diana’s parents were born and raised in the Kingdom of Norland, although they promptly moved out upon news of her mother being with child. The reason was almost completely unknown to Diana, for it was some of unspoken tale. Moving out into a small cottage in the unknown wilderness, she was born soon after gentle snowflakes began falling onto the frigid Earth, the glow of candles from the window reflecting on the new white sheet. Growing up, Diana was sheltered from actual civilization, being homeschooled by her mother in becoming a perfect wife and how to provide for herself in the wilderness by her father. Bedtime stories of her grandparents mostly took place during the Two Emperor War, sparking interest in battle for the young child. However, this interest was quickly washed from her brain from her mother, a sole believer in no violence. As the years went on, all was well within the Reanly family until the mother’s grip on reality loosened. Falling to an illness caused her mother to become bed ridden, lessons abruptly stopping due to her inability to remember simple facts such as her own name, age and where she was. Her mother didn’t last too long, for she passed silently in the night a few years later, completely oblivious to ever having a family of her own. At age fourteen, Diana’s life was uprooted as her father decided it was best for himself and his daughter to move to Kaedrin, an open opportunity for the two to become intertwined with a community once again. It wasn’t an easy task for her to become closer than an acquaintance with the girls in her new home and school, for she was raised differently, therefor an outsider. At age seventeen, Diana decided that her schooling was finished and that she could no longer live such a boring and uniform life. This caused her to bid farewell to her father, taking a small pouch of some coin and food and be on her way down the road. This led to many encounters with bandits, different races and some lovely people. Although she remains independent for the most part, she does well for herself, keeping her father’s lessons in mind and being the independent and strong woman her mother once was.
Diana placed one foot upon the dry land and instantly felt better, for the ground was no longer rocking beneath her feet and making her queasy. The bright colors and loud sounds caused her emerald eyes to dart back and forth, having a hard time to decide what to rest upon. Her view was almost immediately blocked as the well-dressed gentleman stepped in front of her with a kind smile and mischievous eyes. The heart shaped lips that rest upon her face gently curled into a smile as he spoke, a warm and welcoming feeling washing over her. The feeling that she didn’t make a mistake by leaving her father behind.
”Welcome!” He began. “What brings you to this lovely city? Adventure? Wealth? Or some grand aspirations to elevate your place in society.”
The question left her pondering for a moment, giving her a few seconds to clear the phlegm from her throat before she began to answer him. “All but none of your answers fit,” she’d respond with lofted brows. “I have no plan except to live my life. I do not decide what happens, it will take me where I must go.”
The man looked at the short female with a puzzled look, his eyebrows furrowing and eyes narrowing. “It sounds to me you are just unprepared,” he says softly.
”Perhaps I am!” Diana would say enthusiastically, her shoulders lifting and falling in a shrug. “Yet, I feel more prepared than I ever have before.”
Diana extended an arm to the fellow, her smile only growing. “The name is Diana Reanly. You should remember the name, so when you hear the stories, you can say you’ve met me.”
