Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town just as it turned dusk. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
"Just wandering around the land" you say. You eye the crone, then back outside the tent. For a moment, the air thickens with anticipation, until you realize something and say in surprise "what do you mean you've been expecting me?! I came here on a whim you shouldn't have known!" as you are standing there you decide to accept the hags offer and sit down and tell her your story, you don't know quite why you accepted but you did. As you are sitting there on the cushion you say "I am a wanderer looking to learn more about the world and its flora and wildlife, although I know next to nothing other then the basics like pigs cows and some trees, speaking of which you got any books on flora and wildlife?" you finish saying, the hag looking at you in surprise says "Sadly I do not have any books on flora and the wildlife that I may lend to you, but I do know that you may find some in a library." she finishes with saying "You are welcome to stay here for the night to wait out." then the old hag goes and moves a desk by her showing a trap door that leads down into a cozy little living space "You can stay here." the hag says. "Thank you I say, alas I do not have any money that I may pay you with for lending me this shelter for the night." you say. "Ahh, It's alright my dear you don't have to pay" the hag says, "but.." I say before being cut off "I said that you don't have to pay me and I mean it" the hag says. "Ok" I say, "I will be off in the morning, I am going to be going back home, you see I traveled a ways away from my home of seemingly endless fields from my home village and got lost while on the lookout for herbs, so I will try and get back because it is the place that I am most familiar with" I say. "I see" says the hag "Very well, I wish you a good night" says the old hag as she leaves. "wait..." you mutter "why did the old hag just point out the obvious? Of course there is going to be books on flora and wildlife in a library!" you continue to mutter
