Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"Ever since I was a child from the ages 3-10 my parents owned a local tavern outside of town. They welcomed travelers from all around, serving hot meals and cold drinks and providing room and board for weary adventurers. Things were going well until they started to attract an unwanted crowd of criminals heading into the nearby city. slowly over time the tavern became vandalized and ruined. My father took action into his own hands and dealt with the lead criminal known as Tyel. He struck him down and threw him out in the mud. Tyel swore he'd regret the day he laid hands on him. a few days pass and my families tavern was burnt to the ground. Devastated myself and my parents returned home thinking of what to do next, our livelihood was gone and now we were lost. later that night Tyel and his posse broke into the house and murdered my parents. I managed to escape and stay in hiding. To carry on my parents legacy I sworn to myself to build a successful tavern and to exact revenge on my parents murderer".
