Born as Hayashida Hideki, a merchant’s son for the city of Ihon. Living in the streets of Ihon wasn’t as easy as for him. From a young age, he was helping his parents in running their small but well known mochi shop, helping his father prep and make the mochi. there he met his friend Hikari. She visited the shop almost daily. His life was peaceful, and he was content with it.
But this all ended when Hikari came to visit one night. asking him to help her.
She told him she was to be wed to Hiraya, a vicious and vile merchant from Yamatai. Hideki would help her and get her to safety, and in the middle of the night, he took her with him to the harbor and set her aboard of one of the western merchant ships. He convinced one of the sailor, who frequently visited the shop when he was in port, to let her on board.
But as they were talking one of Hiraya’s men spotted them and knowing what they would do to him and possibly his family, Hideki and Hikari both jumped on the ship as it was about to set sail.
Leaving the port of his hometown, leaving his family... Hideki look to the sky and asked to the gods, what was it is they wished of him, as he was content with his former live.
But he knew one thing, to protect Hikari.. in anyway possible.
After days of sailing, they arrived in an unknown port, an unknown world. They were ready to face adventure but also scared. Scared on whether Hiraya would find them again. They in fact changed both their identities, just to be safe. Hayashida Hideki became Thisel Killyu, and Hikari took the name of Thathel Killyou, pretending to be his younger sister.
He looks at the man with a confused and blank look and after getting a push in his side from his “sister” .. “Na--Sorry”, he exclaims, “my name is Thisel, and my sister and I came to this city to find a cure for a curse my dear sister came upon in our land.” His sister let’s out a small cough an hides behind his back. “We have heard that there could be one found in this land.” My Good sir, could you direct us to a play of healing or curse lifting.”
As the gentleman tells them he doesn’t know of such a thing,
As they turn a corner Hikari wordlessly grabs something out of her pouch and flips a golden coin with an unknown insignia. Currency from the new land??
