Theodora Milton was born to Nathaniel and Joyce Milton in the Winter of 1744 in their home in the capital city of Helena on a Sun’s Smile. Along with her parents came her grandfather, Jakob, a veteran of the War Of Two Emperors and settler from Atlas during the 1705 migration. She was an only child, raised in a comfortable financial situation, her mother having a stable job as a seamstress, and her father a hunter. He had no special title or achievements, but in 1750, when Theodora was six years old, her father went on a hunting trip, from which he did not return. Her mother, a woman with a heart of steel, did not let the loss of her husband ruin her or her daughter’s life.
Instead, she turned to her work to cope, becoming more strict and hard working, while still loving and caring for her daughter. Joyce continued to work hard and tutor Theodora, who by age ten, was considered a talented seamstress for her age. She continued the craft into her teenage years, where she worked in her mother’s shop. Due to her extreme work ethic, enforced by her mother, Theodora did not have any friends outside of business regulars and her mother’s friends. When Theodora was 17, in 1761, her grandfather passed away from illness at age 71.
Since then, Theodora has moved from her childhood home, leaving her 50 year old mother behind, in search of new work and friends in her hometown.
Theodora smiles to the man, wiping off her gloved hands and placing them on her hips. “I’m actually here to find a job. If you have any tips on where to find one, I sure would like to know.” Her smile widens as she outstretches a hand to the stranger. “Name’s Theodora. My friends call me Thea.” She has a feeling this is city is going to be the right place for her.
