    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Powergaming is when a player accesses, uses or applies abilities that are outside of their natural strengths and limitations, making it impossible for an opponent to respond or to be able to prepare a proper defense.

I am Tesoro a dark elf, and I live with my friend Lethil Florian. We want to move to the city of Ker’nor. There is a settlement nearby, called Linandria, where the wood elves live.  

 

Families and ancestors are a big part of our lives because we are elves. My ancestors come from the land of Aegis, which is probably why I am so good at fighting and all things combat. My family was killed in a fire so I don’t have very much information on my ancestors. This is really hard for me since they are so important to us.

 

Another reason that I am so skilled at fighting is that when I was little, my friends and I always played games with swords and tried to see who was the best at hand-to-hand combat. Of course, I usually won. Nobody knows this, but I even still have my sword and bow that my father gave me before he died.

 

Even though I am amazing at fighting, my real love is writing poetry.  My mother wrote poetry and when I was young, I loved to sit near her as she shared her writings, I even have some of her writing with me. The only problem is I am not very good at poetry, so I am going to stick with fighting.  Maybe I can write in my spare time.

Another thing you should know about me is that I have no desire to get married or ever have children, so I am not even worried about that old elves curse. I really want to travel and fight.

Also, I am not very fond of pastel colors at all; I love to wear bold, deep, rich colors unless of course I am scouting and hiding and need to blend into my surroundings.

Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
