    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Using OOC knowledge in a roleplay situation. Using skype to gain and use information in rp your character wouldn't normally have access to.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Emoting actions on behalf of another player. For example forcefully chopping someone's arm off would be powergaming.

Hello, my name is Oliver DeTamble. I was born into a wealthy family in the Citadel of Acael. My father is a very wise and renown professor in the city and loved inventing new technologies. Both of my parents were very strict, and made sure I was focused on my studies more than anything else. I was always top of my class and had record breaking test scores. My parents were hoping I would follow in my father's footsteps and become a successful professor, however this is not the life I wanted. 

 

Ever since I was young I wanted to travel and see what else was out there outside of the city walls. My parents forbade any of these thoughts and kept me locked away in my room, forcing me to focus on my studies. One day, I got sick of this. I decided I would escape my parents' grasp on the day of my 24th birthday. As they both slept, I pried open the window with a dagger, and silently slipped out without a trace. That was the last day I saw my parents and my home. 

 

Now I wonder the land searching for a place and a purpose to my life. I hope one day to find a home to finally call my own...

Physical Description: Curly dirtier blonde haired diamond blue-eyed boy wearing normal snow elf attire. Looks to be quite normal.
Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
