Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

“I do not remember my childhood clearly. Only fragments — the river, the cold air, the sound of labor and the weight of expectation. When I came of age, I left home. Not in triumph. Not in rebellion spoken aloud. I simply walked away.” A slow breath passes from his lips, “I have traveled since then, taking work where I could find it. Carrying goods, mending broken things, standing watch over my packs in the night and fended against bandits. I seek no throne, no legend, and no prophecy.” The hands in his lap as he sits before the crone tighten into fists. “Yet I feel something unfinished in my path. As if I am still walking away from something I have not fully understood.” He lift his eyes to hers, determination burning within them, “I came here because people speak of this town as one that answers questions travelers carry but cannot voice.” He pauses. “Tell me what do you see in my soul that i dont see." " what brought me back to this place?"
