Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
I eye her up and down for a second, looking for pockets and the location of her hands. After concluding that she didn't pose a threat I sat down. "You want to know my story? And why is that?"
*she gives an answer that i accept*
"My acquaintance with this land started 4 years ago when I married into the Von Lynden family at the age of 20. Lovely woman she was, shame that she succumbed to that lung infection a year later. After she died I decided to stay with the family, as i was sure my own family won't accept a widower back. Good merchants they are, the Von Lyndens. Not really my expertise, but I still respect them practising the trade. I am still looking for how I can fit in myself, but I will find a way. So, that's all you need to know about me lady, I hope it's enough."
