Valadin was a farmer's son born and raised in the fields outside of Sutica. He was a lonely and quiet boy with few friends, often only seeing family and friends during birthdays and special gatherings. Valadin spent most of his time working on the fields harvesting and fertilizing crops, or out with his father watching and learning from him. His father Azyl was a stone-faced kind of man, he believed the natural order of things and was pleased when he had a son. Having Valadin so late in their lives his parents couldn’t conceive another child, a fact that left Valadin very lonely and often sad. Wanting more children Valadins mother Sylvannica loathed his father for making her wait so long to conceive, knowing the infertility that would come with Iblees curse. Being her one and only Sylvannica watched Valadin closely, urging him not to go out by himself to explore the world. She would often find tasks for him to do inside to keep him busy when he was not out helping his father or studying. 

Valadin was homeschooled by his mother as she was a well educated woman who came from a notable seed who were all big followers of the Aspects. She was kind and patient, always serene in helping Valadin and letting him take the time that he needed to understand a question or task. Valadin was lonely but loved, with a proud father and a compassionate mother he was loved unconditionally. As time grew on and he got older so did his parents. Harvesting and seeding the crops often by himself as his father became older and more sluggish, and cooking and tidying the house when his mother started to feel ill. Valadin’s time was with his parents, and he knew nothing other than that.

Within the same year both Valadin’s mother and father grew ill.They both succumbed to their health and both died of disease, first his mother Sylvannica then his father Azyl. Valadin’s parents were gone and he was lost as to what to do with his life. He didn’t want to harvest the fields anymore, he didn’t want to see the memories over and over of places his parents once were. Not long after his father's death Valadin decided to sell the farm leaving his old life behind, and is heading to Aegrothond to make a new life for himself in Siramenor.
