    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Playing with knowledge you possess but there's no way your in game character could know and using that knowledge to your own advantage. For instance, if you were to use magic in which you learned of on the wiki but had no way of knowing in game as new player. Or if you were told about something in OOC and used it to your character's advantage.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Playing the game in a way that is illogical, unrealistic, or impossible in a roleplay situation, which is, in turn, breaking roleplay and is out of character. An example being injured but continuing to move and act as though you weren't, like if you got shot in the leg and just kept walking or if you drank a ton of alcohol and didn't get drunk. Pretty much denying choices or making rp unfair for the other players.

"Come and talk to me when you learn how to perform a proper con, or better yet, I'll teach one to you." He waves flamboyantly in a mocking manner and turns away.

In regards to your question: when sending a bird, you would have to emote three times so like this example
Bobby whistles, a bird swooping down from above and landing on his shoulder [emote 1]

[someone else emotes or whatever] 

Bobby then takes out some paper and a quill from his satchel, writing on the paper [emote 2]

[someone else emotes or whatever] 

Bobby attaches the letter to the bird's leg, sending the bird off with the letter. [emote 3]
