Aran Ruric is the son of Avon Ruric. His father is of Highlander descent, but his mother, Astraea was of Heartlander descent, making him mixed and occasionally frowned upon. His father Avon had sheltered Aran and his brother Asterion to protect them from the corrupt politics of Norland. Aran's mother was murdered in Santegia after visiting a marketplace there. Avon, being the nephew of the famed prince of Norland, Artyom Ruric. When Aran became 15, he was taken to Belivitz to be raised, located near the Whispering Crossroads. While being sheltered away from Norland's society, Aran would practice his archery in the woods and became skilled at hunting and archery. Aran was completely illiterate due to the nature of his father's education.
