Neyelle's fingers instinctively tightened around the leather-wrapped handle of her blade, concealed within the silk-lined sack at her side. The amber crystal dangling from her neck caught the flickering candlelight as she hesitated in the tent's entrance, her hazel eyes scanning the shadows with practiced wariness. Her eyebrows furrowed slightly, as the constricted feeling of her glabella tightening, as the discomfort of the woman seeped into Neyelle. "Expecting me?" she repeated, her refined accent cutting through the musty air like poised silver. Despite her apprehension, curiosity of the unknown won over caution- a familiar, yet commonly fought against, weakness of hers. "I'm afraid you have me at a disadvantage, odd woman."
She approached the cushion with measured steps, her travel-worn but well-tailored boots silent against the damp earth floor. The skirts of her modest dress, her finer gowns safely tucked away in her old shack, rustled softly as she settled herself with practiced grace, though her posture remained alert. Even with the years since her childhood passing, Neyelle still remains as polished and ladylike as before. She is remarkable in nothing but name, even then, perhaps etched in envy, she wishes to reclaim her lost history.
"As for my story..." Neyelle's free hand absently touched the amulet positioned between her cleavage, a gesture born of old habit and rooted in insecurity. "I am but a traveller seeking..opportunities in these uncertain times. Though I must confess, this particular settlement was not my intended destination." Her grip on the knife handle began to relax slightly, replaced by the familiar tilt of her chin that spoke of noble breeding, despite her current circumstances. "Perhaps, perhaps you may enlighten me as to why you were expecting someone you've never met?" Neyelle Theindalay said, her smooth and manicured hand gestured forward. Her fingers long and sophisticated, whilst her skin was pale and shined as if she were the moon. "If I may, of course, be ever so bold in my request."
