Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Thorigg ducks into the tent, shaking the swamp’s damp air from his beard. The scent of rotted wood mixes with candle smoke as his eyes adjust to the flickering light. He eyes the old hag carefully, one hand brushing the dust from his leather apron.
 

“Been expectin’ me, have ye?” he mutters, voice deep and rough. “Didn’t think word of a blacksmith’d travel this far into the muck.”

He settles onto the cushion with a grunt, the metal rings in his beard clinking softly.
 

“Name’s Thorigg Callarr. Miner, smith, and keeper of treasures the earth tried to hide. I’ve dug deeper than most dare, and I’ve lived to sell the proof. Spent half me life chasin’ gems, the other half hoardin’ what I find. Don’t care for war, don’t care for kings — only for what shines.”
 

He leans forward, emerald eyes glinting in the candlelight.

“So, hag... if ye truly were expectin’ me, then ye know I ain’t here for company. Tell me—” he grips the handle of his hammer, a faint smirk curling his lips “—what’s buried ‘round here that’s worth my time?”
