You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

*After a while, Tarnúin finally decides to come closer and sit down with a heavy sigh.* "Alright then, I'll tell you something about myself and based on what you answer, I'll think about giving you some change."
"First off, no, I wasn't born with this hair color." *He flashes a glance towards his ponytail.* "It's highly possible that I have some elves in my family, but I don't think it's from them..." *He makes a small pause and looks down at the ground.* "Truth is, I was about to be executed. I don't really remember what for specifically, there was... a lot on the list. I've spent the night in a cell and couldn't sleep, I couldn't accept that it would end this soon. Then, when morning came, they said, that they're not gonna execute me, but rather... send me as an 'extra help' to work o na ship. So that's what I did. When I woke up the day after, my hair was this pale."

*Tarnúin gazes into the distance for a while before nodding his head.* "So, that's what I do now. I'm a sailor. The ship I'm on gets sent on the worst voyages, that normal men wouldn't dare to go through... why? Because we're expendable. All there is to it." *He shakes his head with a small cynical smile.* "So, tell me granny... am I really the one you were waiting for? Because all I see in my future is just another voyage to gods know where..."

Character backstory:

As stated, Tarnúin was a fairly young lad with shady past who was meant to be executed. His hair turned white/pale gray overnight from stress (it's called Marie Antoinette syndrome, the teacher of my friend actually experienced it too). Through some luck (or fate) his execution didn't happen in the end and he along with few other criminals were sent as a crew on an exploration ship. Their pay was miserable to none and the conditions in which they lived in were not something an honest sailor would accept. But for a long time, they didn't have much choice in this regard.

One day though, the ship wasn't met with a polite weather and many men were lost to the sea. Tarnúin was one of them, but for some reason... he survived again. He got washed up on the shore with an extensive amnesia. (A perfectly fresh start for him to enter the world.)
