Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Silvren stood there stumped at the question for a few seconds before quickly sitting down in the tent. After further prodding from the old lady, he finally gave in and started talking. "I grew up in a small village on the outskirts of the bigger cities, and it was always peaceful..." Silvren pauses for a few more seconds. "...well mostly. I would wander the woods, explore nearby groves, and look for anything that would be exciting. But I always felt that the village was too small for me and that there was something bigger out there for me to find or see."
"One day there was a group of raiders that attacked the village when I was out in the forest and I.... I couldn't do anything to help. I realized I that knew nothing of this world and no way to protect what matters. I knew I had to leave my home and find myself in some way, even if it may be dangerous. I want to see the cities and meet the people that I have only ever heard of from people who passed by our village, and do something of note on the way as well." Silvren widens his eyes "Wait! Who are you and why have you been expecting me?!" His hands start trembling slightly and wander towards my sword as he waits for her response.
