Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Example: A moment of silence passed as Avenly Harlowe thought quietly to herself. 'Well, perhaps it wouldn't hurt..' A hum left her lips as she got comfortable in her seat. "Most of my life, I wanted to know what was beyond the horizon. I grew up in quiet wilds, raised by my parents who loved to study the local flora and fauna. I was brought up alongside my two older brothers learning how to live off our homeland. While my brothers played knights or archers, I played the helpful healer coming to their aid." As memories surfaced, she smiled though it was brief with a somber tone taking over. "Until they left to follow their dream. They always said when I was old enough, my brothers would come back for me.. but, they never did." A frown touched her face, but only for a moment. Her eyes formed a foggy sheen, a telling sign of hardships which left more questions than answers. "One day, I hope to reunite with them. Until then, I will follow my dream as they did."
