Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Athalas shuffles into the room with an unassuming presence, making him often overlooked in most events. This interaction comes as a surprise, and he quickly moves to engage with this old hag, letting out a sigh as he bends down to sit on the cushion. He stares at her with deep eyes that give a sense of a calculating mind.
"My story is a long one, so I shall keep this short and sweet. I was once a young lad working the fields with my mother and father, doing what we could to survive. I always dreamed of more," he exclaimed, letting out another deep sigh "You see, growing up, my family were never well off; we barely made it through most winters. Starvation was always a factor to consider, and so I felt cheated at life, to be perfectly honest. I wanted more, and so I set out moving to the city, where I met my late friend Rudeus. Together, we founded Titan, a company based on distributing food throughout the kingdom. We earned a killing, and for a long time we enjoyed a life of lavish luxury, but it was all too short-lived. By the time we were thirty, Rudeus was conscripted, and before I knew it, the face of our company was lying in a coffin." While Athalas shed no tears, he was obviously saddened by this topic "Well," he continued, intent on moving the story along ", my life basically ended there, and for ten years, I've continued living with my company slowly dying off" He stared deep into the hag's eyes, "but my story will not end there for I took the last name Titan so I could live the life my friend coult not."
