Ikiru was born into a broken family, his father left just days before he was born - and his mother drank constantly. The combination of this, gave him slight abandonment issues, and a hatred for alcohol. With his parents either gone, or drunk, he had to mostly fend for himself - stealing to survive, past the age of 3. After time of doing this, he had it down to an Art, but he decided to steal from a man, who was out of town, and had much more money than the people from the poor village, he under-estimated the younger man, and was caught in the process. The man pitied the child, upon finding out why he stole, and decided to take him in.
He lived with the man, having him be his 'fill in father' past the age of 5, He took into his 'fathers' interests, one of which being magic, though, despite taking a liking to it, he never had the opportunity to learn it.
He took a liking to his new life - and was scolded for stealing past that point, eventually stopping it entirely. He was taught by a formal school, which he was sent to by his 'father' and tended to get picked on a lot, even being beaten for being a thief in the past, as the man moved to his old home town, and he was schooled there. He always toughed through his wounds, and found friends where he could - other people who were beaten, he would help, and he would be a friend to those in need of them. He never learned to be proficient in combat, preferring to take a beating, than hurt someone else. He eventually got into a large brawl, and killed his opponent on accident, by knocking them back onto a lumberjacks axe, and instead of helping, he panicked, and ran, causing the child to die. After this, his fill in father casted him out, not for killing, but for not trying to help. He found a job out of town as a farm hand, and learned to hunt as a secondary food source, eventually his past caught up with him, and he was exiled from his town. He took the money he had, and his know how, to go find a new home, one away from his past, so he began walking. Currently, his location is unknown, wandering by forest, and sea when necessary, until he finds a town, a place to make his home, with people to help, money to be made, and magic to be studied, to make up for never doing so when he had the chance/
