Azand was born and grew up in the desert region of Atlas as a part of the Qalasheen people. For years he was forced to help his parents sell their wares to make a living. Azand was never good at selling wares in his youth because of the haggling aspect of the business. It was the small things that were hard for Azand due to his slow-learning nature. He lived a relatively normal life until he aged into a man and his urge to explore the world took over. With that, he informed his parents of his intentions and left his homeland in search of wisdom, knowledge, and adventure.
