    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Meta gaming is the use of outside knowledge or knowledge you yourself may know but your character would not to gain an advantage.

    If I knew that Tim had a hidden agenda and used that knowledge against him while my character would have had no knowledge of Tim's agenda at all.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is making your character some form of invulnerable god

    An example would be if I were to fight with another player and decided for that player that I took an arm off.

Rowan Looks at the man and takes in his appearance. Clean clothing, well kept hair, no smell of the sea or the road. He looks the gentleman in the eye before stepping in his direction and saying, "I have not the time, nor the patience to deal with a fool of wealth and luxury."

 Rowan doesn't give the well dressed gentleman a chance to respond as he pushes past him and bumping into him to attempt to steal his coin purse.
